I LOVE MY CHURCH!
Living life with your church is good for you! In fact, being involved in church will add years to your life.
On average, people who frequently attend religious gatherings live 8 years longer than those who do not.
Compared to those who never attend church, they have found that regular attenders have:
29% reduced risk of depression
33% reduced risk of death
50% reduced risk of divorce
84% reduced risk of suicide
- This last statistic is staggering due to the massive increase in suicide in recent years.
Studies have found that Church service attendance is associated with greater longevity, less substance abuse, better cancer and cardiovascular-disease survival, greater meaning in life, greater life-satisfaction, and more volunteering.
Of course, the point of the Gospel is not to lower your blood pressure, but to know and love God as you are known and loved by him. Jesus Himself never missed sabbath services. The early Church often met several times a week and at times even daily!
The writer of Hebrews 10:24-25 reminds us:
"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."
Join us for 4 weeks, beginning Wednesday in Feb 28 (630pm SHARP!) as we study the doctrine of the Church.
May the Lord fill us with renewed love and zeal for His Church!
