The topic: "Christian Responsibility"
Register today for our critical new teaching series tailored precisely for our times. Pastor Alan Duncalfe will teach Cross Church about our responsibilities in this life as a Christian. The four-part course begins Wednesday, November 4th at 6:30 PM sharp, and continues for three more Wednesdays (please note: we will skip November 11).
Don't miss this timely, essential material.
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. And then God made Adam and Eve in His image with grand responsibilities. Because they were created in God’s image, they had personal agency and were expected to fulfill the will of God on the earth, with the gifts, intelligence and skills given to them.
All of God’s people should know that the life of the believer is marked by a considerable burden of responsibility. Contrary to what we may expect, this burden, when observed and performed faithfully, fulfills us and give us a strong sense of purpose and happiness.
Jesus confirms this in His teachings. For instance, we are taught to pray, “Father… your Kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” In Luke 12:48, Jesus says, “When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.”
And in the last chapter of the Bible, Revelation 22:12, Jesus says, “Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds.”
In the month of November, we will discover how the burden of Christian responsibility affects every area of life. We are preparing now for Judgment Day when we will give an account to God for our attitude, our decisions, and how we spend our time, money and talents.
